A former Sarpy County Prosecutor will avoid jail time after being sentenced in a domestic assault case.
The former prosecutor, 48 year old Jennifer Hessig, was sentenced Tuesday in Papillion, receiving eighteen months of probation. She'd pleaded guilty In May she pleaded guilty to one count of Disorderly Conduct and four counts of Disturbing the Peace. Hessig's plea deal dropped the charges down from Domestic Assault and Negligent Child Abuse to the lesser conduct charges. Hessig was also ordered to attend a batterer intervention program and not drink alcohol.
In July 2017, law enforcement was called to Hessig's home due to an altercation with her husband. The couple's children were home at the time of the incident. Hessig would later resign from her position as a prosecutor with the Sarpy County attorney's office.
