Kennel Owner Pleads Not Guilty To Animal Neglect Charges

A Pottawattamie County man has pleaded not guilty to forty counts of animal neglect.

On Monday, 35 year old Dustin Young entered the pleas to four counts of Animal Neglect Resulting in Death.

Young, the owner of Young Gunz Kennel, is accused of letting animals live in horrible conditions at his facility near Hancock, Iowa. In May, the bodies of deceased dogs and dozens of malnourished dogs and puppies were discovered at the kennel. Officials said the inside of the business was covered in animal urine and feces, and there was no food or water for the dogs.

Young's trial is set to begin September 18th. He also faces 36 counts of Animal Neglect.
