Driver Hits House While Attempting To Flee From Police

In an attempt to flee from police, a suspect ended up running his vehicle into a house. 

Council Bluffs Police say just before 2:25 Monday morning, an officer attempted to stop a Chevy Yukon for no headlights near Main and 6th Avenue. The Yukon fled when the stop was initiated and the Sergeant chose not to pursue. 

Dispatch then received a call shortly after that a house near Willow Ave and 3rd Street had been hit by a vehicle matching the Yukon's description. The Sergeant arrived on scene and attempted to arrest the suspect, who then fled on foot. 

The Sergeant then tazed the suspect in order to apprehend him, who was eventually handcuffed without further incident. The man was charged with Operation without Owners Consent, Eluding, Curfew, Interference w/ Official Acts, numerous traffic violations and is being investigated for Operation while Intoxicated.

The suspect sustained a cut to his forehead and abrasions to his shoulder and knee from falling as a result of being tazed.
