California Man Arrested In Omaha After Deputy Finds Over 200 Pounds Of Pot

A California man is behind bars in Omaha after being caught with over 200 pounds of marijuana Monday morning.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says around 5:45 a K-9 deputy stopped a silver Nissan Armada with Pennsylvania license plates pulling a U-Haul trailer near 147th & West Center Road for a traffic violation. While talking with the driver, 53 year old David Leslie of Cucamonga, CA, the deputy became suspicious and asked for consent to conduct a search.

Leslie denied consent so the deputy deployed his canine “Fletch” who alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics inside the trailer. A search was conducted and deputies found approximately 210 pounds of marijuana in heat-sealed bundles in the trailer.

Leslie was reportedly in route to St. Paul, Minnesota from Reno, Nevada when the stop was made in Omaha. He was booked for Possession of Marijuana More Than a Pound, Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Deliver and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp.
