A 10 year old Omaha girl was rushed to a hospital and then into surgery with severe facial injures after she was attacked by a pit bull near 47th and Laurel Avenue. It happened Friday evening around 6 p.m. As the girl was taken from the house the dog continued to try to attack her.
Investigators tell WOWT 6 News there were other children inside at the time but were not hurt. There were also two other pit bulls at the home but were not involved in the attack. The dog responsible is now in possession of the Nebraska Humane Society.
