A fitness tracker may help authorities locate a missing Iowa woman.
The Poweshiek County Sheriff's Office says 20 year old Mollie Tibbetts was last seen on July 18 in Brooklyn, Iowa, a small town about an hour east of Des Moines.
Authorities say on the day Tibbetts disappeared, her brother dropped her off at her boyfriend's house so she could dog-sit. A neighbor told investigators they saw Tibbetts jogging that evening, which would be the last time anyone saw the University of Iowa student.
The FBI joined in on the investigation this week, putting about fifteen agents on the case.
Investigators have executed search warrants for Tibbetts' Fitbit, something loved ones say she would have had on for that Wednesday night jog. Authorities have also gained access to her Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook accounts. Those working the case hope the information will give investigators details such as the route Tibbetts took before she disappeared.
Tibbetts' family has started a Facebook group dedicated to finding her.
