Man Run Over While Attempting To Repossess Car Rims

A Lincoln man is recovering after being run over by a car early Thursday morning.

Lincoln Police say shortly after midnight, officers were called to the Walgreens near 27th and Vine for reports of an injured pedestrian. The 33 year old victim told officers that he was attempting to repossess tires and rims from 26 year old Amanda Bothwell because she was behind on her payments. Bothwell had reportedly not made a payment on the rims and tires since April.

The victim said he explained to Bothwell why he was taking the tires and crouched down to remove a tire. That is when Bothwell reportedly put the vehicle in reverse and ran over the victim as he yelled for her to stop. Bothwell then fled the scene.

The victim suffered injuries to his legs. Witnesses were interviewed and Bothwell was arrested for Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident.
