Two Suspects Caught After Fleeing Arrest In Stolen Truck

Two men are behind bars after leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a pursuit in Lancaster County Monday morning.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says around 10:00, they became aware of a stolen truck that had just occurred in Cass County near Eagle, Nebraska. Dispatchers, working with OnStar, were able to locate the stolen 2015 Chevrolet pickup in southern Lancaster County.

Deputies and troopers from the Nebraska State Patrol responded to the area, along with the State Patrol’s Air Wing. Deputies located the vehicle near Roca and a short pursuit ensued. When the truck became disabled, the suspects turned into a corn field and took off on foot into the field.

Teams from the Lincoln Police Department, Nebraska State Patrol, Lancaster County Sheriff's Office and Air Wing set up a perimeter and searched the field. Just before 11:30, the search team took 26 year old Dylan Dahlgren of Lincoln into custody. The search continued for the second suspect for another two hours before authorities called it off.

Then, just before 2:00 a LSO Sergeant was driving the area and found the second suspect, 23 year old Seth Schwaninger, in the area. He was taken into custody without incident.

Both Schwaninger and Dahlgren are facing charges of Possession of a Stolen Auto, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Schwaninger was also cited for Flight to Avoid Arrest, Driving Under Suspension, Reckless Driving and Criminal Mischief.
