Online Meetings In Lincoln End In Robbery, Assaults

Two different men were assaulted in separate online in-person meet ups in the Capital City Tuesday morning.

Lincoln Police say shortly before 2:00, a nineteen year old man reported that he was speaking to a woman on Facebook and agreed to meet her at Antelope Park. The victim said he showed up, parked and then a man approached his vehicle. The victim stated the man pulled him out of the car and accused the victim of stealing from him as he punched the victim in the face. A woman then got into the victim’s vehicle and drove away. 

The victim had a laceration on his chin and redness consistent with his report. His 2002 silver Pontiac Grand Am and cell phone were stolen during he altercation.

In the second incident, a man arrived at the Northeast Team police substation around 6:00 with injuries to his head. Emergency crews responded and transported the man to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Initial reports indicate the man was speaking to a woman online and agreed to meet up with her. When the victim went to meet with the woman, he was confronted by a man with a gun. 

The investigations are ongoing.
