A Texas man has been arrested for attempting to sexually assault a hotel worker early Tuesday morning. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says an employee of the Holiday Inn Express near 102nd and Ida told investigators she was called to a room after receiving a report the air conditioner was not working.
When she arrived at the room, she was met by a man wearing shorts and no shirt. She went over to the air conditioner and tried to reset it. When she turned around, investigators say the man was standing in front of her, naked.
The sheriff's office says he pushed her onto the bed and held her down while attempting to unbutton her shirt. She was able to push him off and run out of the room before calling 911. 33 year old Robert Marek of Texas was located in his room.
A search warrant was obtained and Marek’s room and vehicle were searched. Marek was arrested and booked on suspicion of attempted first degree sexual assault.
