A young woman is recovering after being shot during an apparent drug deal gone wrong in Lincoln.
Lincoln Police say just after 1:00 Friday morning, a 21 year old woman showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to her right buttocks. The woman is 28 weeks pregnant, but the baby was unharmed. Her wounds were stapled shut and she was kept for observation.
Investigators interviewed the victim’s 23 year old boyfriend and he reported they were near 8th and Groveland to sell marijuana. He told officers that two men approached the passenger side demanding the drugs, with one man displaying a handgun.
The victim’s boyfriend refused and was struck in the face with the gun. At the same time, the gun went off and struck the victim in the right buttocks.
The investigation is ongoing.
