Motel Shooting Threat Leads To Arrest Of Two Suspects

Two people are behind bars after a man threatened to shoot people at a motel in Lincoln Wednesday night. 

Lincoln Police say just before 11:30, officers responded to the Sharon Motel near 17th and Cornhusker Highway for reports of man threatening to shoot people. The caller said the man was in possession of a stolen gun, had a second gun in the hotel room and that he was under the influence of methamphetamine. 

Officers made contact with three men and two women inside the motel room. There was a strong odor or marijuana emitting from the room and a search warrant was obtained. During the search, officers located a 9mm handgun that had been reported stolen out of Omaha, 2.8 grams of marijuana, methamphetamine and paraphernalia. 

A 23 year old, Chase Bass, was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Firearm and 27 year old Rachael Higgins was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
