A motorcyclist is dead after an accident around 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Saddle Creek and Leavenworth.
Sergeant Jason Menning tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB the Honda CBR 900 RR was westbound on Leavenworth when the rider lost control. The motorcycle jumped a curb and hit a tree. The motorcyle continued along the sidewalk and ended up in the intersection.
Menning says citizens on the scene performed CPR on 22 year old Augustus Slavik of Omaha until paramedics arrived. They took Slavik to Nebraska Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Menning says speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
