Two people were killed, including a small child, in a two vehicle crash in Pierce County Thursday afternoon. The Nebraska State Patrol says the driver of a Buick Enclave was trying to turn west from Highway 81 onto Highway 13 around 12:45 p.m.
The car was struck by a southbound semi. The driver of the Buick was pronounced dead at the scene. Three young children were also in the car. Two of those children were taken to Faith Regional Health Services hospital in Norfolk. Investigators say one of them died after arrival.
The third child was flown to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha. The driver of the semi was taken to the hospital in Norfolk with non-life theatening injuries.
The names, ages and gender will be released after family members are notified.
