A man already behind bars in Council Bluffs is seeing upgraded charges in the death of a one year old girl.
Javon Jennings had been facing a Child Endangerment charge, but that is being upgraded to First Degree Murder. Jennings was arrested in April shortly after emergency crews responded to a call of an unresponsive child in a Council Bluffs apartment.
The child, sixteen month old Jazlynn Harshbarger, was pronounced dead at the scene. Prosecutors say Jennings was the sole caretaker of the girl when she died.
Initially charged with Child Endangerment Jennings was booked into Pottawattamie County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
