A racing official from the Eagle Raceway in Cass County was air-lifted to the hospital after being hit by a car Saturday night. Witnesses say the official was placing cones out when he was hit by one of the race cars and thrown. A witness says the accident happened just before 9:00 during a yellow flag in the Hobby Stock B Feature race.
The victim was reportedly moving after the accident and an announcement made at the raceway stated that the man hit was alert.
A medical helicopter landed on the infield of the track and took the man to the hospital for treatment. Racing did reportedly continue after the helicopter left.
