A Council Bluffs man is behind bars after leading law enforcement on a pursuit from Omaha into Council Bluffs early Monday morning.
Council Bluffs Police say 23 year old John Lindeman Jr. was spotted around 2:00 by Omaha Police while driving a stolen Honda Civic. Omaha officers attempted to make contact with Lindeman and pursued the stolen vehicle to the state line on I-480.
Once in Council Bluffs, CBPD officers picked up the low speed pursuit near S 35th and 9th Ave, with Lindeman leading officers through the city at about 40 MPH. Officers successfully deployed stop sticks deflating the vehicle’s tires. The vehicle crashed into the median at West Broadway and 36th Street where Lindeman was taken into custody with the assistance of the Iowa State Patrol.
Lindeman was arrested on several charges including Second Degree Theft and Eluding.
