Omaha Police Release Results Of Fireworks Enforcement Operation

The Omaha Police Department has released the results of their Fireworks Enforcement Operation. 

Officials say the operation, which ran from June 25th to July 5th, netted over two dozen citations from hundreds of calls. A sergeant and six officers were dedicated to responding to fireworks complaints, primarily focusing on large, illegal fireworks (commercial grade or homemade) and curfew violations.

The following are the results of the operation:

  • 32 total citations
  • 157 calls before 11:00 p.m.
  • 295 calls after 11:00 p.m.
  • 0 seized illegal fireworks
  • 7 officer initiated calls
