Victims In Deadly Highway 50 Crash Identified

Sarpy County officials have identified two people killed in a Monday afternoon crash involving four vehicles.

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office says 44 year old Adam Penick and his wife 38 year old Jennifer Penick, both from Omaha, were killed in the collision on Highway 50 near Schramm Road. Investigators say the Penick's Buick Terraza was northbound on Hwy 50 around 4:00 when it crossed the median and was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Silverado pick-up. Adam and Jennifer were pronounced dead at the scene.  Five year old Unity Penick was a passenger in the vehicle and was transported to the hospital with an arm injury.

The woman driving of the Chevrolet, 41 year old Bobbi Gerdes of Louisville, was taken to Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The drivers of the two other vehicles involved took evasive action and their vehicles sustained minor damage.
