Police Arrest Teen In Connection To South Omaha Shooting

A seventeen year old has been arrested in connection to a Wednesday morning shooting in South Omaha that injured two people. 

Omaha Police say Jamil Phillips was booked into Douglas County Youth Center on two counts of First Degree Felony Assault and two counts of Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.

The shooting was reported at a parking lot near 27th and Z just before 1:00 by a neighbor. When officers arrived they found seventeen year old Za'kari Glasgow and eighteen year old Matthew Brenden both suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to the hospital, but are expected to be okay.

Investigators say both teens were uncooperative when questioned and anyone with any additional information should call Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP.
