On Wednesday, 40 criminal complaints were filed accusing 35 year old Dustin Young with animal neglect. The charges include: 36 counts of animal neglect - simple misdemeanor and 4 couts of animal neglect - serious misdemeanor.
On Sunday, May 5th, Pottawattamie County deputies were dispatched to Young Gunz Kennel near Hancock, Iowa. Deputies found three dead dogs and several malnourished. Investigators determined that Young was operating the dog breeding and training business at his home.
Deputies found approximately 40 dogs and they were removed from the location. Ten dogs were reported missing and approximately 20 were returned to their owners. Owners then were contacted and instructed to pick up their animals.
On Thursday, Young appeared in District Court where he posted bond and was released.
