The Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers will play a regular season game in Omaha prior to the College World Series in 2019 according to the Associated Press. MLB Commisioner is expected to make the official announcement during a news conference Thursday afternoon at CenturyLink Center.
TD Ameritrade Park would host the game. The move would be similar to the regular-season games played in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, in conjunction with the Little League World Series.
Major League Baseball moved a Cardinals-Pirates game to Williamsport last season and the Phillies and Mets are scheduled to play there in August.
