Lightning concerns brought a second day of delays at College World Series. Heavy thunderstorms moved through the metro area Monday afternoon.
In addition to the heavy rain and wind the storms produced lightning and forced a delay in Monday's first game of the College World Series. Washington leads Oregon State 5-4 in the top of the sixth of a losers bracket game.
Fans were asked to leave the stadium due to lightning strikes in the area. There is an automatic 30 minute delay when there is a lightning strike with an eight mile radius of the stadium. When there is an additional lightning strike the 30 minute clock resets.
On Sunday there was a nearly three hour delay in the first game of the day due to lightning.
