Two new Red ruffled lemurs have made their debut at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. The lemurs, a critically endangered species, were born at the zoo on May 8.
These are the first lemurs to be born at the zoo since 1996. Zoo guest can find them indoors in the Expedition Madagascar exhibit.
At this time the sexes and weights of both lemurs are unknown. The lemurs were born to first-time mother Hoskins, who is 7 years old. Lynx is a 31-year-old first time father.
The lemur troop, the two young and their parents, have free choice to roam between their habitat, which is viewable by visitors, or their off-exhibit area.
