Citizens Help Take Down Lincoln Jewelry Thief

A jewelry thief didn't get far after robbing a Lincoln store over the weekend.  The Diamond Masters Jewelers store told police that 28-year-old Quin Howell came in and asked to look at a ring in a display case.

When the ring was pulled out from the case, Howell grabbed the entire tray of rings and ran out the door.  The owner shouted for help and two nearby Dish Network employees saw the commotion.

They caught up to Howell near 49th and Madison Ave. and held him down until officers arrived and took him into custody.   The value of the tray of jewelry Powell took off with is valued at nearly $80,000.
