Man Wanted By US Marshall's Service Causes Multi Vehicle Crash

A man attempting to run from the long arm of the law ran out of running room Wednesday, but not before causing a multi-vehicle crash in Council Bluffs.

Investigators say 31 year old TJ Lebaugh was wanted on federal charges. Officers with Iowa Adult Probation and the US Marshall’s Service had been following Lebaugh on Madison Avenue and Bennett Street when he fled.

Lebaugh reportedly drove off at high speed on I‐80 westbound from Madison Avenue then exited at South Expressway and went north.

Several attempts to stop Lebaugh with stop sticks were unsuccessful and as an officer deployed stop sticks at 19th and South Expressway, Lebaugh slammed on his brakes. Lebaugh's vehicle slid into the back of a 2017 Dodge Durango which was pushed into the back of a 2001 Chrysler mini‐van. Lebaughs vehicle also hit the mini‐van.

Lebaugh fled on foot but was soon arrested by officers.

He faces additional charges of Eluding, Reckless Driving, and No Proof of Insurance.  Lebaugh was booked into Pottawattamie County Jail by the USMS.
