Hit And Run Suspect Turns Himself In

The man police say was behind the wheel during a deadly hit and run crash has turned himself in.

On Sunday, just two days before his 25th birthday, Davionne Collier called 911 to turn himself in to Omaha Police officers. Collier was wanted on a number of warrants stemming from the crash near Fontenelle Boulevard and Curtis Avenue.

Two year old Devon Morris was among three passengers injured in a car crash on Memorial Day. Morris was rushed from the scene, but later died at Nebraska Medical Center. He and a five year old child were unrestrained in the backseat when the crash occurred.

The crash was reported around 5:30 that Monday afternoon. Mar'keshia Devers was driving her Buick Lucerne north on Fontenelle through a green light at Curtis when a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer hit the passenger side of her car. Witnesses confirmed that Devers had the green light. The driver and a passenger in the Trailblazer both ran from the crash.

Collier was booked into Douglas County Corrections for the warrants from this incident and an unrelated misdemeanor warrant.
