Man Taken Into Custody After Gretna Stand Off

After an hours long stand-off with law enforcement, a man was taken into custody in Gretna.

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office said the adult male showed up at a house near 200th & Hackberry uninvited around 11:30 Friday morning. Authorities say the man's adult sister lives at the home.

Deputies said the man was making threats and busted out an upstairs window in the home. Neighbors said at one point a woman could be heard heard yelling something. Deputies were able to get the woman out of the home safely.

The barricaded man was believed to have a knife and had been telling investigators he would eventually come out peacefully. After seven hours, law enforcement officers had to enter the home because the man would not leave.

The man was taken out of the home on a stretcher and was loaded into an ambulance.
