Lincoln Man Beaten And Stabbed While Sleeping

A Lincoln man is recovering after being beaten and stabbed while he was asleep at a friend's house.

Lincoln Police say just before 9:00 Thursday morning, officers were called to Andersen Hall at 200 Centennial Mall for reports of a man with a bloody shirt.

The 41 year old man reported he was stabbed near 17th and Washington Streets earlier in the morning but refused medical treatment for his injuries. He also initially did not want to make a police report.

The victim told officers he went to a friend’s house to hang out and agreed to purchase everyone alcohol in the morning before going to sleep in the living room. He then woke up to a woman hitting and kicking him. The man didn't realize he had been stabbed in the back until he felt blood running down his leg.

The man had minor injuries and did eventually go to the hospital for treatment.  The investigation is ongoing.
