Heavy Rain Leads To Metro Area Street Flooding

Omaha drivers were doing a lot of splashing on metro area streets during the morning commute.  Heavy thunderstorm produced very heavy rain, which led to street flooding.

The worst spot was in a construction area on southbound 144th Street,  just south of West Dodge.  Water covered the roadway and forced motorists to be detoured.   Crews were called in to remove the water and thick mud from the roadway

A Millard Public Schools spokesperson tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB some water leaked in the foyer of Millard North High School after classes started.  Spokesperson Rebecca Kleeman the water came from behind a wall and then pooled on the floor.

She says crews are working to clean it up and accessing where the minor leak occurred.
