Man With Stolen ID Cards Arrested After Ramming Cruiser

Two Nebraska men are in custody after an incident at the Hy-Vee Drugstore on Broadway Street in Council Bluffs Monday afternoon.

Council Bluffs police say an officer spotted a reported stolen vehicle near  Eighth Street and Second Avenue at about 12:45 p.m.

The vehicle then pulled into the drugstore lot and circled the parking lot before trying to leave.  One cruiser pulled in front of the car and another cruiser got behind it to try and box it in.

The driver, identified as 39 year old Mickey Scott of Bellevue, then put the stolen car in reverse and rammed the cruiser, according to Sergeant Jason Bailey.  Police say Scott then refused to come out as commanded. Very minor damage was reported.

After breaking out the driver's side window, officers were able to arrest Scott as he resisted.  Bailey is facing charges of felony assault on an officer, felony forgery, possession of a stolen vehicle and a felony warrant.

Investigators say they found a number of fraudulent identification cards in the vehicle and that Scott admitted to printing the bogus ID's.

The passenger, 31 year old Anthony Orsi of Omaha was also arrested.  He was booked on a felony warrant.
