CHI is bringing back Superhero Sunday to Werner Park on May 20. After the success of the first event, which was attended by six thousand people, organizers wanted to bring the family fun day back to Papillion.
The day will feature the appearance of several superheroes and a number of activities on the field and around the stadium, including bubble soccer, wildlife encounters, hamster balls, music and face painting.
Spokesperson Mary Williams says this is a chance to give parents a break from their hectic schedules without having to shell out any money.
"They've got so much going on and they seem to pull it all together day-in and day-out for their kids. So the superheroes we're celebrating really are the moms and dads, but we're putting superheroes here at the park for the kids."
Everything is free and the first 3,000 kids receive an event t-shirt. Kids are encouraged to wearing a superhero costumes, but toy swords and guns should be left at home.
