Full Scale Active Shooter Drill To Slow Traffic In Bellevue

Commuters planning to be in the area of Bellevue University on Friday should be aware of some possible traffic delays due to an active shooter drill.

First responders will conduct the full-scale "active shooter" training exercise at Bellevue University. Ambulances, police cruisers and even a helicopter are expected to swarm the main campus. Responders from La Vista, Papillion and Bellevue Police and Fire will take part as well as Offutt AFB, the Nebraska State Patrol and Sarpy County Sheriff's Office.

The training will impact traffic near Fort Crook Road South and Harvell Drive through the afternoon, but roads will be reopened by the evening drive.
