Teens Attacked In Road Rage Incident

Omaha Police and a concerned mother are asking for help in locating the people accused of attacking two teenage girls in an apparent road rage incident.

One of the teen's mother, Rochelle, told 6 News that last Thursday her daughter was hit in the face with a glass Snapple bottle during the incident. "They hurt my baby. They hurt my baby."

Rochelle's seventeen year old daughter told her mother that a man and woman attacked her and friend at Florence and Sprague. "She was headed to Carter Lake to do her homework." Rochelle says before the fight, her daughter's friend honked at the couple because they didn't think the car was going to stop at the stop sign on Wirt Street.

That is when Rochelle says everything went wrong. "The car turned onto Florence and followed them. These are adults in their late 30's early 40's, attacking seventeen year olds that look like they're seventeen." She says at first bottles were thrown, then punches, leaving the girls to defend themselves.

The incident landed both girls in the hospital with Rochelle's daughter even being hit in the mouth with a Snapple bottle forcing her braces into her lips. “We ended up having an emergency dentist come into the ER and push her teeth back up into her gums."

A police report was filed Thursday and Rochelle was told detectives would be assigned to her case Monday. She says she brought them evidence from the scene, including video taken at the scene by a witness. Rochelle wants the two behind bars. "They probably have no remorse for what they did. This is a child. It's a child."

Both girls are doing alright and are recovering. The suspect vehicle is described as a black four-door car with in-transit plates. According to the police report, it's believed to either a Buick LaSabre or Oldsmobile Alero. Anyone with information should contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402 444-STOP.
