A former Husker was rushed to the hospital late Wednesday night after being shot outside the Icehouse Bar.
Omaha Police say 38 year old Randy Stella was shot around 11:00 at the bar near 108th and Emmet.
Officers were called to the area and when they arrived they found Stella suffering from a gunshot wound. According to police, he'd been shot in the face with the bullet appearing to have exited through the chin. Although authorities say his injury was serious, he is expected to recover. Stella was a Husker linebacker from 1998-2001.
The suspect was described as a man with dreadlocks. He was wearing a red shirt and fled the scene in a Dodge pickup truck. The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402 444-STOP.
The shooting remain under investigation.
