Bob Krist Wins Democratic Nomination For Governor

Nebraska State Senator Bob Krist of Omaha has won the Democratic nomination for Governor.   Krist defeated two other Democratic candidates in Tuesday's primary election. The veteran state lawmaker campaigned on promises that he would take a less partisan approach to state government than Ricketts.

Ricketts was an easy winner on Tuesday night.  In other races,  Jane Raybould has won the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Nebraska.  Raybould defeated three Democratic challengers and will square off against Republican Senator Deb Fischer in November's general election.  Fischer cruised to an easy primary win on Tuesday.

State Senator John Murante of Gretna defeated Taylor Royal of Omaha in the Republican primary for state treasurer. There were no Democratic challengers so Murante will take over the seat being vacated by Don Stenberg.

In the Democratic race for the 2nd District Congressional seat the race was to close to call between Brad Ashford and Kara Eastman.
