Authorities say a child playing with fire was the cause of a Thursday night fire in North Omaha.
The fire was reported just before 7:00 at the home near Northwest Radial Highway and Parker. Authorities say six children, one adult and a dog were all able to make it out the house safely.
When emergency crews arrived, there was smoke and flames on the outside of the house, with it spreading into a small area inside the house. The flames were quickly brought under control.
The fire was deemed accidental due to "youth fire play." It caused an estimated $18,500 in damage.
