Two Arrested After Disturbance Leads To Shots Fired

Two people are behind bars after a disturbance that led to shots being fired in a Lincoln neighborhood.

Lincoln Police say Tiffany Barker and John Oliveros, both 26, were arrested after an investigation into a report of gunfire near 2nd and Belmont Avenue around 1:00 Thursday morning.

Witnesses told officers they saw a white Chevy Impala in the area and were able to give the license plate number to investigators.

Officers spotted the car, with Barker behind the wheel. She was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. Oliveros, who was in the passenger seat, was arrested when officers found a .45 caliber firearm under his seat. He was cited for Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

Police say Oliveros fired the gun during a disagreement with Barker.
