Crooks Use Dead Woman's Credit Card To Rack Up Thousands In Charges

Omaha Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects in the theft of a dead woman's credit card. Authorities say the suspects racked up $6,000 in charges over twelve transactions in August of 2017.

OPD Fraud Unit Sgt. John Bahle tells 6 News the burning question is how the suspects got access to the deceased woman's Nebraska Furniture Mart card. "The unique thing is we just don't know when they came in possession of this card, if it was something they got out f the victim's house after she passed away or something they got out of her purse, if they knew the victim or if they knew she had passed away and that's why they decided to start using it."

Bahle says anyone with information about the suspects could help them to answer their puzzling questions. "The victim had also reported her purse stolen back in June of 2017 and we don’t know if her card was in her purse at the time it was stolen. So there are a lot of questions here that we have, that we just don’t have answers to but we do know who presented those cards at the Furniture Mart and we’d like to get them identified," said Bahle.

If you recognize any of these people or know anything about the incidents call Crime Stoppers at 402- 444- STOP.
