Friends and family of a missing Omaha mother are not giving up the search.
It has been over a month since anyone has seen or heard from 34 year old Camisha Hollis. The mom of three was last seen at her home on April 2nd. A number of search efforts have come up empty, but loved ones tell 6 News that there may be a new development.
Robert Wagner, a community activist and leader behind Project K.N.O.S.E, called off a planned search for Camisha on Sunday. Wagner says police have now focused their search on areas around the Missouri River and Platte River. "There's really no information for us to search today at this point. We have to let them do their job on the river."
Camisha's boyfriend, 36 year old Marvin Young, is in jail on child abuse charges, but hasn't been charged in her disappearance. The couple's oldest daughter, just ten years old, told police she heard her father beating Camisha the night she vanished.
Camisha's story is impacting more than just her family. Many people have been helping, people like Jennifer Hulett, who hasn't left Camisha's mother Martha's side since they first met. She refused to let Camisha be forgotten, telling 6 News they will bring Camisha back to her family and friends. "We want to bring this mother home, this daughter, this sister home."
Martha Hollis adding," We are going to bring her home regardless. She's going home, I don't know when but she's coming home. I don't know when but she's coming home. I'm not going to stop searching. If I have to search day and night I don't care that my daughter."
