Four Victims Of Deadly I-80 Crash Identified

Four victims in a deadly I-80 crash near Seward on Sunday are being identified.

The victims in this crash were the first of two fatal crashes on the stretch of I-80 between Lincoln and York on Sunday. Authorities say a westbound vehicle drifted onto the shoulder, over corrected and crossed the median, hitting an eastbound vehicle near the Milford rest area. Four passengers in the westbound vehicle were killed, with three victims being ejected. Both drivers survived and were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The passengers killed in the crash are identified as:

  • 49 year old Susan Selser of Clinton, Iowa
  • 20 year old Cody Richardson of Clinton, Iowa
  • 20 year old Troy Wanzek of Clinton, Iowa
  • 19 year old Cole Auston of Clinton, Iowa

The second crash involved two semi-trucks when 33 year old Abdiaziz Jama, of Columbus, Ohio, was killed when the semi he was driving failed to slow down and rear-ended another semi. Investigators say they believe Jama may have been texting at the time of the crash.
