Council Bluffs Police say a woman had to be rescued after falling into a creek bed near 14th and West Broadway Sunday morning.
Emergency crews were called around 9:15 after someone had reportedly fallen from a bridge ledge into the creek below.
The Fire Department was called in so a ladder could be used to assistance the woman. Authorities say the victim apparently fell from a pipe over the water and not from the bridge itself. She wound up on the concrete alongside the waterway.
According to 6 News a stretcher was lowered around 9:40. Minutes later the victim was brought up and transported to the hospital in serious condition.
