17 Year Old Identified In Pedestrian-Car Accident

Omaha police released the name of the victim in Friday's car-pedestrian accident at 97th and Maple.  The investigation shows that the driver of a 2009 Toyota was eastbound on Maple Street and just passed 97th when he struck 17 year old Cheyenne Hudgins.  Police say that the driver, 64 year old Bobby Case had a steady green light when he hit Hudgins..

Hudgins was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators say the traffic signal at the intersection had the “do not walk” signal activated and that Hudgins was walking east of the marked crosswalk.

Police say that Case stopped and rendered aid to Hudgins until medics arrived.
