Country music singer-songwriter duo LOCASH are slated to perform at the 2018 NCAA Men's College World Series Opening Celebration.
Known as “one of Nashville’s hardest-working acts,” LOCASH, Chris Lucas and Preston Brust, have released two albums and charted eight singles. The duo was nominated at the ACM awards for New Vocal Duo, the CMT Awards for Duo Video of the Year, and the CMA awards for Vocal Duo of the Year.
LOCASH will perform on Friday, June 15th around 9:30 PM at home plate in TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. A crowd of about 20,000 fans, including the eight teams earning a berth in college baseball’s national championship, are expected to be on hand. LOCASH's performance will wrap up ahead of the grand fireworks finale.
The June 15th Opening Celebration Day free activities begin at 9:10 AM with team practices followed by team autograph sessions. The CWS Fan Fest will also open that morning and provide family friendly entertainment, including NCAA-sport interactive games, photo opportunities, prizes and more.
Evening activities will kick off with a parade of the eight teams marching east from Creighton University’s Morrison Stadium on Mike Fahey Street. The teams will enter the stadium where they will be introduced Olympic style.
Also on hand for the evening festivities will be the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team, who will be followed by LOCASH and the grand fireworks finale.
Opening Celebration Day schedule:
- Team Practices: 9:10 AM – 5:00 PM
- Team Autograph Sessions: Each team will sign autographs for 45 minutes beginning 30 minutes after the conclusion of their respective practices.
- Fan Fest: 11 AM – 9:00 PM (Lot C and Mike Fahey Street.)
- Parade of Teams: 8:30 PM
- Opening Ceremonies: 8:45 PM – 10:00 PM featuring team introductions, the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, LOCASH and the fireworks finale.
The 2018 NCAA Men’s College World Series runs from Saturday, June 16, through Tuesday, June 26, or Wednesday, June 27. More information is available here.
