Middle School Student Arrested For Threat

Millard Public Schools officials say a Kiewit Middle School student was arrested Monday after posting a video on social media while holding a BB gun. The video was captioned “don’t come to school.”

Several people contacted Millard Public Schools and the principal. School administrators contacted police. The student’s home was searched.

School officials say police determined there was no threat to safety.  The student was arrested. Principal Marshall Smith said in a letter sent to parents, “Please take a moment to discuss appropriate comments and active reporting with your young adults. Communication is vital to keeping our community safe. I want to thank the people who spotted this social media post and reached out to us.”
