First Round Of Severe Weather Possible Tuesday

Now that spring weather has finally arrived, it's time to start thinking about the severe storm season. According to WOWT 6 Monday will be another day with high a fire danger. Winds will be very strong out of the south at times gusting near 50 mph. Combine that with even warmer temperatures and sunshine and you have a dangerous mix. Highs top out at 86 degrees.

A Wind Advisory is also in effect for Eastern Nebraska until 7pm Monday evening.  Tuesday will bring thr threat of severe weather. Storms will fire up after 2pm as a slow moving cold front moves through the area.

WOWT 6 says the metro area is in an enhanced risk zone for those storms to go severe with the biggest threat being very large hail development. Storms will last all the way through the afternoon, evening and into Wednesday morning.

Aside from the hail threat, flash flooding will be a big concern.  Wednesday we'll have scattered showers and storms in the morning lingering into the early afternoon before some clearing later in the day. Thursday more storms are possible,  but they're not expect to be severe.
