If you drive on the Omaha Veterans Affairs medical campus, there will be some upcoming, permanent road closures to be aware of.
Beginning Monday, April 30th roads will be closed on campus to accommodate the construction site for the Ambulatory Care Center.
The road closure will impact Nimitz Drive, the road that connects Woolworth Avenue to the hospital’s main entrance and parking lots. Closures will also aeffect Puller Drive, which connects Center Street to the main entrance, loading dock, provider parking lot, building 9 (dialysis) and building 8 (mental health services).
This closure will be permanent as the new ACC building will connect to the existing hospital. The hospital and outpatient clinics can be accessed by using the Woolworth Avenue entrances.
A section of parking lot 2, northeast of the main hospital entrance, has also been closed. Lot 2 will be relabeled in sections to provide patients with the closest available parking on campus. Shuttle services will continue from the parking lots to the main entrance.
While the impact should be minimal, Veterans are encouraged to consider how the road closures and parking changes will affect their transportation to appointments on or after April 30th.
