Omaha Friends Make National TV Debut On Wheel Of Fortune

Two best friends from Omaha are making their national TV debut Wednesday night when they 'spin to win' on Wheel of Fortune.

Angela Eglseder and Jenyl Hankenson have been friends for most of their lives and have shared thousands of memories together, but one will stay with them forever. Last month, the best friends headed west to sunny Los Angeles to film their episode of Wheel of Fortune. It was an opportunity Eglseder tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB was a dream come true. "I think I said a couple times, 'Are we really here Jenyl?' like 'Is this really happening?' It was very surreal."

Eglseder has been a fan of the wheel since she was a little girl and wanted to try her hand at the popular game show, so she submitted an application. When she heard back for an audition in Omaha, they told her she could bring a friend along. "I figured two minds are stronger than one, so Jenyl and I went to the audition."

Hankenson says after the audition the pair patiently waited for weeks for a response, and then it came. "We were basically waiting by the mailbox to see if we would get our letters. We both got letters saying 'Congratulations, you've been selected. You will now be entered into our contestant pool.' At that point we were kinda just ecstatic. We couldn't believe it, we were just so excited." Two weeks later the best friends were invited to Los Angeles to film their episode, an episode in which all contestants compete with their best friend.

Hankenson and Eglseder say being able to be on the show was an amazing experience and they are excited for their friends and family to finally see how everything went. Eglseder says, "I'm very excited that it's here and that everyone is gonna see it and finally know what happens. Just to not have this big secret weighing on me everyday." Jenyl adds, "People kept trying to stump us and try to trick us into revealing stuff. So we're just so excited now that we'll finally get to see it."

You can catch Jenyl and Angela's episode Wednesday night at 6:30 on ABC.
