A little girl who was born at the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium last year returned to celebrate her first birthday in grand fashion.
Baby girl Drea Hubbard gave her parents quite the shock when she decided to come into this world during that zoo visit one year ago. Mom Kymica Hubbard has a delivery story unlike any other.
She started having contractions while the family was visiting the zoo and when she told her husband, he thought she was overreacting. Kymica’s water broke shortly after they got off the zoo’s train and Drea was born just minutes later.
Justin and Kymica Hubbard celebrated their daughter Drea's first birthday at the Henry Doorly Zoo on Monday. Drea's parents tell 6 News they will always cherish that special day and that the zoo will hold a place in their hearts.
Kymica says she will cherish sharing the story of Drea's birth with her. "I hope we see more and more of the zoo, so I can always tell her how she was born and where she was born in the zoo."
