A one vehicle crash Thursday morning in north Omaha sent the driver to the hospital with serious injuries. It happened around 9:30 near 24th and Sahler.
Investigators say the driver of a Chevy K10 pickup was westbound on Sprague and made a right turn to go north on 24th Street. Moments later he lost control causing the pickup to fishtail and slam head on into a metal light pole.
59 year old James Lawrence was transported to the hospital for treatment of lacerations. Police say Lawrence was cited for DUI and having an open container of alcohol.
